By the Book is a stacking puzzle for 1 player. The player has to choose the books according to the challenge card, and stack them on the bottom shelf in a way that will allow the top shelf to be perfectly balanced across the top. The player has to place the cat in the configuration as well. The level helps the player make sure everything is aligned.

The game contains 40 challenge cards, 12 wooden books in different sizes, 2 wooden shelves, 1 cat and a balance level.
